Brad Arnold shares major health updates.
The frontman’s three doors revealed in an update to fans on May 7th that he had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer.
“I went to the hospital a few weeks ago after getting sick,” the 46-year-old said in a video shared in a joint Instagram post with band members Chris Henderson, Greg Upchurch, Chet Roberts and Justin Billtonen. [cell] cancer. ”
For reference, according to Cleveland Clinic, clear cell renal cell carcinoma is a type of kidney cancer that “affects tubules that discard from the blood,” and is the most common type of kidney cancer.
Arnold also explains that his cancer had metastasized in his lungs, meaning he had been diagnosed with stage 4.
In addition to “Not So Good News,” Arnold has announced that the band will unfortunately have to cancel their summer tour, which is scheduled to begin in Florida on May 15th.

However, despite the difficult health update, the “Cryptonite” singer called on fans to lift him and his family with thoughts and prayers, saying he was “not scared at all.”
“We serve the mighty God and he can overcome anything,” Arnold continued. “So I have no fear.”
The singer ended his announcement with a light quip about whether he has been listening to the 3-door down song “It’s Not My Time” repeatedly. The 2008 hit said, “This could be my end / Everything I know / But it’s not my time and I won’t go.”
Following Arnold’s health update, fellow musician Scott Stap (who had Band Creed co-headlined multiple stops on a three-door down tour over the summer) shared encouragement in the comments.
“If anyone has the faith and power to face this battle, it’s your brother,” writes Stup. “You and your family are in my prayers every day. We can do everything through Christ. I think I can speak for all of us. We are unquestioningly believing in your perfect healing and lifting you up in prayer! I love you.”
