Two suspects have been arrested for attempted murder after a man was shot and killed in Riverside County.
On May 4th, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3900 block of Southern Mescal Street, Corona at 5:20am.
The male victim was shot and assaulted by two suspects who fled the scene before deputies arrived. He was taken to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury.
Authorities canvased the area and found evidence of the shooting, but no suspects were nearby. After the investigation, detectives identified coronavirus resident Juan Manuel Lopez Jr., 42, and 38-year-old Alexandro Lopez as the main suspects.
A search warrant was provided at a shared home by the man, where deputies found firearms, ammunition and other evidence in connection with the shooting.
The next day, Alexandro Lopez was in the 100 block of North McKinley Street, Corona, where he was taken into custody.

On May 7th, Juan Manuel Lopez Jr. surrendered himself to a representative at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
Both men were arrested for attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and felony in possession of a firearm.
No further details were released, including the motives behind the attack and shooting. Investigators did not provide details about how the victim was known to the suspect.
