Some DMV offices in LA and Orange County will be open on May 17th due to the appointment of Real IDs, state and state agencies announced Friday.
“Even if the federal enforcement deadline is over, DMV will continue to provide the actual ID to Californians who want one,” DMV Director Steve Gordon said in a statement. “We are providing additional weekend appointments to make it easier for our customers to upgrade.”

The offices listed below are open on Saturdays only by appointment from 8am to 1pm
Fullerton (909 W. Valencia Drive) Glendale (1335 W. Glennork Blvd) San Clemente (via Cascadita via 2727) Riverside East (6425 Sycamore Canyon Blvd)
Residents who do not have an actual ID can wait for their driver’s license to upgrade for renewal. In the meantime, other federally accepted documents, such as valid passports and permanent resident cards, can be used to board domestic flights.
To obtain an actual ID, Californians can begin applying online.
Before starting the application, prepare as follows:
If you have created a login for your DMV online account, if not previously created, you will have to visit the Field Officer with your Social Security number on hand, along with basic information such as your name, address, date of birth, and more to end the rest of the driver’s license/ID card application process
The average time to complete the application is 9 minutes. If you log off, the application can be completed later.
The required documents can be uploaded online, but you will need to bring them to your local DMV office to complete the application process. Files can be uploaded as files from your computer or as photos from your phone.
