The National Weather Service advises SoCal residents that a “mini heat wave” will be set up this weekend.
The NWS said in its discussion of regional forecasts on Saturday morning that much of the heat is felt in the inland communities.

Weather officials noted that the “mini heatwave” peaking on Saturday will bring highs of 88-98 degrees Celsius to the region. This is the normal 10-20 degrees. It’ll still be hot on Sunday. In some regions, temperatures are expected to be as high as 90 degrees.

Authorities also advised local residents that “mini heat waves” are at a high risk for fever, particularly sensitive populations.
Until 9pm on Saturday, the Hot Advisory is in effect in many communities in Ventura, Los Angeles and Riverside counties, as well as many communities in the southwest of San Bernardino county. The advisory says daytime temperatures can reach “about 103 degrees,” and cold overnight temperatures provide “almost relief” from the heat.
