Rapper Tory Lanez was hospitalized in a California prison on Monday after another inmate attack, where he is sentenced to 10 years in prison to shoot hip-hop star Megan Ty Stallion with his foot, authorities said.
Lanez, Daystar Peterson, was attacked by a residential unit at the California Correctional Facility in Tehachapi around 7:20am, the state Department of Correctional Rehabilitation said in an email. Tehachapi is located about 100 miles north of Los Angeles in Kern County.
The statement did not show how Lanez was attacked, but TMZ reported that he was stabbed, citing sources.
Staff quickly provided medical assistance and called 911, the department said. He was hospitalized, but details about his condition were not immediately available.
He said the prison investigation unit and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office are under investigation.
In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felony. Attack with a semi-automatic firearm. He has an unregistered firearm that is not loaded into the vehicle and releases the firearm at significant negligence.
Megan, Megan, who is Megan Pete, testified at the trial that after leaving the party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July 2020, Raines fired a gun into the back of her foot and yelled at her to dance away from the SUV she was in.
The judge rejected a new trial motion from Lanez’s lawyers who are suing his beliefs. They did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Megan recently alleged that Lanes was harassing her from prison through her deputies, and in January the judge issued a protective order by 2030 to stop such harassment and other contact.
