Four men from Ivory Coast, a West African country, were arrested about three years after a 17-year-old boy caught in a “sextoritarian” scam took his life, federal officials said.
Ryan, a senior at a high school in San Jose, believed he took his own life in February 2022, hours after dealing with a Facebook person, according to CNN, and sent him naked photos to ask for it from him, according to CNN.
The horrible person immediately asked his teens for $5,000 and threatened to send nude photos of him to friends and family. The price was eventually reduced to $150. Finally, he said he couldn’t pay everything.
Mother Pauline Stuart, who described his son as “very reliable,” said the burglar “even after paying for the LA Times report” and “continued to hold him.”
In a suicide note, the teen reportedly apologized for the ordeal, and the mother said her son was afraid of what explicit photos would do to his family.

Officials added that his fearful mailer Alfred Cassi was arrested on the Ivory Coast in April, and the man was still reportedly sent to the teenage victim in February 2022 by his phone.

The four arrested people face cybercrime-related charges in Ivory Coast, as citizens are not taxed, the Associated Press reported.
