The newly released dash cam and security footage shows the moment when a high-speed DUI track crashes near Los Angeles International Airport, killing a juvenile driver.
Los Angeles police released the full video on Monday, releasing details from the investigation, revealing that the person killed was not a passenger, as previously reported.
Police said it happened early on March 28th, and police said a young, unidentified driver suspected of being affected was trying to avoid the officers.
The driver and two other passengers traveling in the Burgundy SUV were chased by LAPD officers when they began driving at what was designated only as “high speed”.
The dangerous speed freed officers from pursuit, officials said. But soon the SUV was driving the Century Boulevard westward when the driver made the fatal mistake of driving a red light.
The SUV hit another car called a compact sedan and was caught at an intersection while driving south along Sepulveda Boulevard.
LAPD detailed that the crash caused the SUV to lose control and crash into the pole, “causing fatal injuries to the juvenile driver.” The paramedics declared he had died before he could remove the body from the car.

The other two residents were only identified as a 19-year-old man from Los Angeles and a 22-year-old man from Hawthorn, and later arrested by airport police officers. They were investigated and hospitalized for minor injuries.
Authorities said the driver of the second vehicle also suffered minor injuries and is recovering at a local hospital.
The juvenile driver’s identity has been pending notification of near-kind.
Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to bring information about the incident forward.
