The family confirmed that Phil Robertson, the patriarch of reality television show Duck Dynasty, passed away at the age of 79.
“We celebrate today with our father, husband and grandfather Phil Robertson being with the Lord,” read an Instagram statement posted by his daughter Phyllis Robertson Thomas and other families on Sunday evening.
“I am grateful for the love and prayer of many who have influenced his life, saved by grace, his bold faith, and his desire to share the good news of Jesus with everyone,” the Post continued. “We are grateful for his life on earth and continue our legacy of love for God and to others.
Robertson was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in December 2024, and his family confirmed his family in a podcast episode, “Embarrassment with the Robertsons.”
“I’m sure he has some kind of blood disorder that causes all sorts of problems,” said his son, Jace Robertson. “It’s accelerated and causing problems for his whole body.”
Details of Phil’s death were not immediately revealed on Sunday, but his family expressed deep gratitude to all those who supported him and his family’s journey, repeating Phil’s faith.
