An unusual accident occurred during the show “Final Destination: Bloodline.” This could have been a simple scene from one of the franchise’s films.
According to Infobae, an Argentine digital news outlet, the ceiling collapsed at a show at Cinema Ocho in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, around 9pm on May 19th.
Fiamma Villaverde, 29, her 11-year-old daughter and friend decide to check out the film on a whim, but did not expect life to drain the arts.
“The truth is, we weren’t going to go to the movie,” Villa Verde told the outlet in a translated interview. “It was my birthday, we were walking and it happened at the theatre. Tickets were cheaper than the rest of the week so I said, ‘What about us?’ We went in, bought some popcorn and the show was just beginning. ”
A big crash was heard towards the end of the film.
“There was a really loud noise. At first I thought it was part of the film because we were so crazy, but then a huge piece fell on me,” she cried.
Photos of the incident show holes in the ceiling with debris in the entire floor and in the seats.
A part of the ceiling fell over her, hitting her shoulders, back, knees and ankles. She said she missed her head as she was leaning against the armrest.
“I got the ticket money back,” she explained. “The theater manager came to talk to me while I waited. He asked, ‘How do you want to fix this?’ I’m angry.
She suffered several bruises, was diagnosed with trauma from the impact and was advised to receive more x-rays. She revealed to an online newspaper that she is suffering from panic attacks and anxiety disorders.
“I’m taking psychiatric treatments and medications. I’m struggling to be in a crowded place. I’ve never been to a movie in years. I went because it was my birthday.
She said she has not filed a complaint yet, but she contacted her attorney.
The theater has not issued a statement yet.
The “final destination” franchise follows a group of people who mercilessly escape death after surviving the events of a massive victim. Film death scenes are often horrifying and follow strange accidents.
“Final Destination: Bloodline” is currently in the theater. It is the sixth film in the franchise that began in 2000.
