Former Chicago mayor blames Democrats for “weak awakening” amid 2028 speculation

Former Chicago mayor Rahm Emmanuel appears to be urging Democratic reforms, who teased the 2028 presidential election and described in an interview with The Wall Street Journal as “weakly awakened.”

Emmanuel denounced the current democratic platform as “toxic,” arguing that party leaders need to return to basics rather than dragging them to unpopular cultural debate. Emmanuel is one of many names in the democratic circle that, along with Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz and the former Transportation Department, has emerged as a potential 2028 candidate. Pete Battigeg.

“If you want the country to give the keys to your car, you have to clarify the agenda that someone is fighting for America, not just against Trump,” Emmanuel said. “American dreams have become uncontrollable. They are inaccessible. They need to be unacceptable for us.”

Emmanuel recently returned to the United States after serving as US ambassador in Japan under President Joe Biden’s administration. In addition to serving as mayor of Chicago, Emmanuel also served as President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff, serving in Congress representing Illinois.

Longtime Democrats also argued that education in the United States should focus on meeting higher standards rather than surge in society’s doctrine.

“I’m empathetic and sympathetic to kids trying to understand their pronouns, but it’s not worth the fact that the rest of the class doesn’t know what a pronoun is,” he said.

So far, no Democrats have publicly declared their intention to run for president in 2028, but some have messed around with the idea. Waltz told reporters that if he was “requested to serve,” he would “do anything” to run.

Similarly, Kentucky Gov. Andy Besher says he will “consider” the White House bid.

Buttigieg played Coy about everything he was about, telling Fox News after his Town Hall appearance in Iowa, “Nothing runs now,” and saying, “Nothing is running.”
