Police at the University of California, Irvine are warning the community as they search for a man suspected of raping a victim on campus later last week.
In a crime warning, UCI Police Chief Liz Griffin said the rape allegations occurred at Camino del Sol’s student residence hall around 11pm on May 16th and was reported the following day.
“The reporting party was walking through the residential community when an unknown suspect forced the reporting party to the ground and raped it,” Griffin added.

The suspect was said to be an adult white man between the ages of 30 and 40, and was a medium build, wearing a dark T-shirt and a navy blue hat.

The victim also told police that the man was driving a dark-colored Acura.
“The officers canvased the area when they received the report and were unable to find the suspect or vehicle,” Alert noted.
Campus officials provided the following safety tips:
If you’re out on your own, make sure you trust your feelings and try to remove yourself from the potential threats as soon as possible when you expect someone to go where you’re going, whether you’re with you, and when you start to feel concern about the person or situation.
