President Joe Biden’s aide considers him to be one of the most powerful first women in history, according to a new book, Original Sin, by CNN anchor Jake Tupper and Axios political correspondent Alex Thompson.
According to Proxy, First Lady’s top aide, Anthony Bernal, has become one of the most influential people in the White House, while Tupper and Thompson have spoken in a new book about Biden’s cognitive decline and the cover-up of the administration.
“He’s not going to be welcome at my funeral,” longtime aide Biden told the author.
Operating in the White House, which is staunched to loyalty, Vernal is wielding his loyalty as a weapon and removing exiles, Tupper and Thompson said.

“He thinks loyalty is a critical virtue, and wielding the words elevate others, and sometimes, sometimes not. “Are you a Biden person?” he asks the West Wing aide. Regular interrogations have led some colleagues to blow him away by the leader of the “Loyalty Police.” The journalist wrote in “The Original Sin.”
The new book reveals Biden’s inner circle worried about a year when his debate performance fails
During the pandemic, Biden traded campaign trails for lockdowns. Two aides, Bernal and Annie Tomasini, found their way into the pods of Joe and Jill Biden, changing the dynamics of the so-called “politics” power of Biden, a group of advisors who pilot Biden’s political trajectory.
Tapper and Thompson describe the “very loyal” duo as taking on a “brother and thin sister vibe.” Thompson even had the title of Associate Campaign Manager, which Tupper and Thompson said were “unusual for staff members to spouses.” The duo were the mastermind behind loading Biden’s teleprompter ahead of the local interview.

“The importance of Bernal and Tomasini is the extent to which their rise at the Biden White House informed the success of those who are loyal to the Biden family.
Tapper and Thompson said it would be difficult to find many Bernal Defenders, and explained that they would use his power to drive out “potential heretics.”

When Bernal gained the reputation of a fellow garbage-speaking aide, “some even described him as the worst person they’ve ever met,” Tupper and Thompson said.
Bernal and Tomasini took on some of the roles of resident staff at the White House. Tupper and Thompson said the aides had “the White House badge read “res” and had the highest access ever to the residential district, something unusual for such aides.”
When the Biden campaign began preparing for a reelection campaign and expressed some fears about his age and state voting on the battlefield, Bernal and other senior staff members lightly missed Vice President Kamala Harris about opening a bid. Bernal says, “You don’t run for four years – you run for eight years.”

“He had already begun planning for First Lady’s 2025 international travel schedule,” Tupper and Thompson said. According to the author, Vernal freely criticized Jill Biden’s “profile and charm” and freely criticized him for calling him “Jill.”
Jill Biden and Vernal worked in tandem and maintained a score of “I was with them and against them.” The book described First Lady as “one of the main supporters of the president’s decision to run for reelection and one of the major deniers of his degradation.”
Bernal’s loyalty to Biden never wavered. Even after a disastrous debate performance in July 2024, Jill Biden and Bernal decided to keep pushing until November, Tupper and Thompson said.

Fox News Digital goes back extensively, dating back to the 2020 presidential campaign about Biden’s cognitive decline and the role of his inner circle in covering it up.
A former White House staff member opposed Tapper and Thompson’s claims about Bernal in a statement from Fox News Digital.
“Many vignettes in this book are false, exaggerated or intentionally omitted from the story they want to push. Anthony was a strong leader with high standards and a mentor for many.
