Former Navy Seal Jared Hudson is running for the US Senate as R-Ala Sen. Tommy Tuberville is seeking governor of Yellowhammer.
Tuberville, who has been in the US Senate since early 2021, announced this week’s governor bid, and Alabama’s 2026 US Senate race has been open wide as there are no existing people in the contest.
“President Trump needs fighters, not career politicians. I’m a former Navy seal, not a swamp insider. And I’m standing in the Alabama Senate to secure borders, crush awakened agenda and defend Christian values,” Hudson said in a post in X.

House Freedom Caucus member Eli Crane praised Hudson when sharing candidate posts on X.
“I’m really happy to see a man like Jared jump into one of the toughest battles on the planet. I served with Jared on Team 3. He’s a very good guy who loves the Lord and his family,” the lawmaker said in the post.

“Eli Crane is a friend and a god-fearing patriot,” Hudson wrote in response to Crane’s comments. “We need more warriors like him in Congress. We are representatives who don’t quit and serve people, not swamps. So I’m running. I’ll provide Trump in the fight for Eli & Press to make America great again!”
According to the group’s website, Hudson and his wife founded the nonprofit Covenant Rescue Group.
Trump says University of Alabama graduates will graduate to avoid being “victims,” and in the US, “we reject that idea.”

“They saw a lack of skills and funds to properly rescue victims and arrest criminals involved in human trafficking and child exploitation,” the site said. “We shared our passion for the children who were victims of these crimes worldwide, and they decided to be proactive. They organized passion, training and expertise to end this evil, organized company.”
