Former first lady Michelle Obama faces backlash after saying that creating life is the “least” thing in the female reproductive system.
The latest episode of the podcast, “IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson,” joins the former first lady and her brother, OB/Gyn Dr. Sharon Malone, whose husband, Eric Holder, served as Attorney General under former President Barack Obama. During the debate, the former first lady lamented that women’s reproductive health has been “reduced to the question of choice.”
“The reason we tried to have discussions on the campaign trail in this past election is because many men don’t know what women are going to go through,” Obama said. She went on to argue that the lack of research on women’s health shaping male leaders’ perceptions of abortion issues.

“Women’s reproductive health is about our lives. This complex reproductive system creates life,” added Obama. “That’s very important.
In the same episode, the former first lady scolded a Republican man and said that the man “sitting in his hand” over abortion is choosing to “swap women’s health for tax deductions and more.” Obama also criticized the Republican women, suggesting that she voted for President Donald Trump for her husband.
“There are a lot of guys with big chairs at the table. There are a lot of women who vote for how their men vote. That happened in this election.”

Michelle Obama urges parents not to try to be friends with their children
The author’s comments drew criticism from pro-life activists, including Sousa Gill of Daniel D, wife of Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas. The couple announced the birth of their second child in early May.
“Motherhood is the most beautiful and powerful gift God has given to God. Creating life is not a side effect. It’s not a miracle. Don’t let the left go cheap.”
Content creator and author Isabel Brown also denounced the former First Lady as “the supposed feminist icon.”
“I’m very sick [and] I’m tired of celebrities [and] An elitist who tries to convince you that your miraculous superpower ability to grow life from nothing is somehow despicable [and] “Less than women,” Brown wrote.

At the time of writing, Obama’s podcast is ranked 51st on Apple podcasts and is not listed on Spotify’s Top 100 podcasts. However, it ranks 91 on Spotify’s 100 trending podcast list. The entire Malone episode is available on YouTube. This currently has less than 41,150 views so far.
