This month is 45 years since the disappearance of 15-year-old Kelly Louise Patterson, and authorities are still searching for information as the case remains unresolved.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Patterson and her family moved from Cerritos to the 1700 block of Peacock Lane, Fullerton in early June 1980.
A few weeks later, on June 26th, Kelly left the house and walked to a nearby convenience store to buy candy and ice cream. She was never seen in her family again. However, OCSD says that wasn’t her last discovery.
June 27th
Investigators say Patterson was 15 years old at the time of his loss of disappearance and met three boys who attended school on June 27 the day after she was last seen by her family. The boys told authorities that they met her on their bike near Rosecrans Boulevard and Euclidean Street.
Rose Clan and Euclidean are only over a mile from where she lived.

“The boys dropped her off the street from their home in Peacock Lane,” OCSD said.
No further information has been released regarding the interaction.
July 1st
Kelly was seen at a local bowling alley on July 1st, five days after the last time he was seen by his family.
The circumstances behind anyone who saw her, the bowling alley she saw, or what time of the day the interaction occurred, were not revealed.
July 3rd
Another witness told authorities that he saw her riding her bike in Cerritos, about 10 miles from Fullerton’s home on July 3. Witnesses said they gave Kelly $8.
After this interaction, the witness and Kelly bid farewell, and her confirmed sightings were not reported again.
December 27th
On December 27, 1980, Blair oil workers found a skull about 7.5 miles from Patterson’s home and about 19 miles from where Kelly was found on July 3 in a field with remaining teeth, left femur and left tibia near Tonner Canyon and the 57 highway.

July 8, 2019
On July 8, 2019, a post about Reddit allegedly published by Kelly Patterson’s mother provided more information about the incident. On the day she was last seen by her family, Kelly left her new home to meet friends in the Cerritos area where she previously lived.
One of the boys she was with (the post confirmed there were three) got into her house on the bike handlebar and dropped her off inside the block of her house in Peacock Lane. The post showed that the boy said he could see the residence from where Kelly was dropped off.
Kelly Patterson is seen in a photo released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
“Six months later, some of her bodies were found in Tonner Canyon, behind Blair Mall in the Union Oil Field,” reads Post. “This was before [social media] So there wasn’t much coverage of her death, but I think someone there saw something, or they knew something, or heard something that would help solve this case. ”

She also owned a white macrame wallet, deputies said.
