Mob attacks teens cruelly at Palmdale concert, family seeking fees for hate crimes

After a high school student is cruelly beaten by a mob at an improvised Palmdale Rock concert, the family is demanding justice and accusations of hate crimes.

Videos of the violent attacks that have since become a virus show 17-year-old Elijah Green curled up on the dirt, but at least four people are believed to be adults, stomping, kicking and punching repeatedly, while others support the fight from the frame.

Audio from the footage uses racial slander to capture criminals in physical attacks.

“We were watching the video in the hospital,” Elijah’s mother, Ronica Green, said at a press conference Monday morning. “Mothers don’t need to see their children trampling like this.”

The incident is said to have happened last month after attendees allegedly claimed that Elijah had inappropriately touched the woman the night before. However, Ronica denied it and said instead that her son stumbled and leaned on the woman to try to break the fall.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said: “Palmdale Station has provided KTLA with a statement regarding the night of the attack that is aware of the fatal weapon attack that occurred on the date above at an improvised concert at the intersection of Old Harold Road and Fearthorn Avenue.”

LASD said detectives have been assigned to the case and “in extensive contact with the victim and his family.” Authorities did not expressly state the victim’s name or age or provide further information regarding reports of fatal weapon attacks.

Najee Ali, a local civil rights activist and senior organizer of the Metropolitan Church in Los Angeles, said Elijah’s family contacted him to serve as a spokesman and advocate.

“Elijah Green’s racially motivated attacks are one of the most frightening hate crimes I’ve ever witnessed against young black people,” Ali said. “This is L.A. hatred and we want a unified response from all community organisations and leaders that represent justice.”

The extent of Elijah’s injuries was not explicitly stated, but Ali’s statement included a quote from Lonica.

Officials said this was an aggressive investigation.

“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office takes allegations of hate crime seriously, and all cases will be thoroughly reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office,” read the department’s statement.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Palmdale Detective Pearson at 661-272-2477 Palmdale Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
