The new law aims to set a limit on the number of immigrant paroles allowed in the United States each year.
“Preventing Abuse under the Immigrant Parole Act” will close the parole admission to the United States with 3,000 people per year starting in 2029.
It also “establishes the findings of Congress” that parole for those trying to enter the country should only be “case-by-case.” It also allows people from “countries of concern” such as Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria and Russia to grant parole unless otherwise permitted by the State Department.

“Biden’s open border officials have abused immigrant parole to serve on the Freedom Runch agenda, exposing the United States to one of the greatest national security vulnerabilities I’ve seen in many years,” bill sponsor Addison McDowell said in a statement Wednesday.
“When the review procedure is ignored and the locks are opened, it is difficult to believe it is not intentional. They showed no respect for the American families left to deal with the fallout of their failed policies.
McDowell’s bill was inspired by the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee and the Subcommittee of Oversight, Investigation and Accountability, with 2.8 million individuals being given parole and former President Joe Biden in office within the scope of former DHS executive director Alejandro Mallorcas.

“Systemic abuse of parole among foreigners outside the US poses a threat to national security and should prevent future abuse,” the bill text states.

The figure of 2.8 million has around half a million Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans admitted under the parole program that the Trump administration would have to end.
A recent stay by the Supreme Court shows that the Department of Homeland Security can ultimately succeed in its efforts to terminate the CHNV parole program, as it allows people to banish people.

“Today’s decision is a victory for the American people. The Biden administration lied to America,” DHS Deputy Director Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement about the May 30 Supreme Court decision.

“They have allowed over half a million vetted aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela and their close relatives to enter the United States through these disastrous parole programs, giving American workers the opportunity to compete with American workers, she added.
The proposal comes when the House recently passed a settlement bill. This includes additional funds for immigration enforcement. And before it hits President Donald Trump’s desk, it is now on the Senate side.
