Malibu High School rushed on Wednesday to repair and clean up after students were mischief over and left tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Authorities believe at least 40 current seniors or former students will destroy, causing destruction, and 20 classrooms inaccessible, Monday from 11pm to 2am.
The hallways at Malibu High School were tagged with toilet paper, eggs and flour scattered throughout the building. The word “senpai” was also scribbled across the door.
“That’s not a way for you to celebrate achievements,” said Esmicaleaga of the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District.
The damage also included glued door locks and explicit graffiti while the clock was being pulled out from the wall.
“This is not a ritual of passing. It’s a serious crime,” Karega said.
The district warned students of the outcome, adding that senior vandalism has been occurring within the area for more than 15 years.
“It won’t be tolerated,” Santa Monica Malibu Unification said.
The LA County Sheriff’s Office has pledged to ensure that deputies are working with the school to investigate vandalism and prosecute the responsible person within the scope of law and educational codes.
The district will not say whether the punishment includes cessation of expulsion.
