Gov. Gavin Newsom has fired President Donald Trump over reports that the Trump administration is preparing to cancel several federal funds in California.
Californians pay the bill to the federal government.
We pay more than $80 billion in taxes than we have returned.

According to KTLA’s sister station YourCentralValley.com, the agency is reportedly tasked with identifying grants the administration can withhold from California.
“This is a political terror,” said Laura Friedman, president of California’s 30th Congressional District, in a statement, “This is a political terror. “Californians pay $83 billion in taxes each year than they receive from the federal government. America is dependent on taxes, and now Trump wants to punish us.”
DOJ threatens California public schools with legal action over trans-athlete participation
The latest round-trip between federal government and state officials was reported by Hill after President Trump was 16-year-old Abu Hernandez, junior at Jurupa Valley High School, won the women’s long jump and triple jump event at the Southern Section Master of the California Inter Scholastic Federation on May 24, and competed in the state championships from May 30-31.
Hernandez won two gold and silver medals in the state track and field finals.
In February, Trump said “it is the US policy to oppose men’s competitive participation in women’s sports,” and signed an executive order that threatened to “retract all funds from education programs that deprive women and girls of fair movement opportunities.”
California is one of 22 states that have laws requiring transgender students to participate in sports that match their gender identity. The law was signed in 2013 by former Governor Jerry Brown.
The number of active trans student-athletes out of the 5.8 million students in the state’s K-12 public school system is estimated to be in single digits, according to the Newsom’s Office.
