Trump says Musk will face “severe consequences” if he funds Democratic candidates – NBC Los Angeles

President Donald Trump said on Saturday that there will be “severe consequences” if Tech Mogul Elon Musk is funding Democratic candidates to oppose Republicans who vote in favor of GOP’s sweeping budget bill.

“If that’s the case, he’ll have to pay for the results,” Trump told NBC News in a phone interview, but refused to share what those results were.

“If he does, he’ll have to pay very serious consequences,” he added.

The president also said he does not want to repair his relationship with Musk after a feud between the two men erupted publicly earlier this week.

“No,” Trump said when asked if he wanted to do so.

When asked if he thought Tesla’s relationship with SpaceX’s CEO was over, Trump said, “You’d think so.”

Trump’s comments were the most extensive as he and Musk traded threats and attacks against X and True Social earlier this week. He added that after the two men fell in front of the world, the Republicans thought they were more united than ever.

Trump said he has no plans to talk to Musk anytime soon. “I’m too busy doing other things,” he said, adding, “I’m not going to tell him.”

Elon Musk, who works in the Trump administration, is over. On Wednesday, May 28th, Tesla CEO announced at X that he had left his position after the “scheduled time” ended.

Trump also accused Musk of “disrespectful to the president’s office.”

“I think that’s very bad because he’s very rude. I couldn’t underestimate the president’s office,” he added.

Musk announced the X barrage of hell against the president on Thursday. This includes current deleted posts highlighting a one-off link between the president and deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“It’s called ‘old news’. That was old news. That has been talked about for years,” Trump said Saturday. “Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. That’s old news.”

For the days leading up to their masses, Musk was critical of the GOP-led spending bill passed by the House last month.

At the oval office on Thursday, Trump responded to Musk’s criticism, telling reporters:

Shortly after these comments, Musk launched his massive posts, including promoting a post calling for Trump to be fired each.

Trump also responded on Thursday with his own post on the true society. In one post, he wrote, “I don’t care that Elon was heading towards me, but I should have done so a few months ago.”

He also wrote on Thursday, “The easiest way to save money on a budget, billions, billions of dollars, is to end Elon’s government subsidies and contracts, referring to a federal contract with SpaceX.” “I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do that!”

On Saturday, Trump said he hadn’t made any suggestions for anything more thought into canceling the federal contract for Musk’s company.

“I’ll be allowed to do that,” he said, “but I’m not giving anything to it.”

He also questioned the notion that Musk’s opposition to “one big beautiful bill law” jeopardizes the potential for success of the bill, saying he is “very confident” that the bill will pass the Senate by July 4th.

“The Republican Party has united so far

Musk has spent more than $500 million to provide significant financial support for President Trump’s bid in 2024 and boosting him in swing states last year. In the first months of the administration, Trump took charge of the government’s efficiency department, where he oversaw massive layoffs of federal workers and closures or partial closures of several agencies.

The feud forced lawmakers to see the benefits of the bill, Trump said.

“I think Elon actually brought out the strengths of the bill because people who weren’t that focused on it started to focus on it and they’re seeing how good it is,” Trump said. “In that sense, there was a great deal of affection. But Elon, I think it’s a shame that he’s really so depressed and heartbroken.”
