Even if bittersweet and complicated emotions arise, it is a moment that thousands of people around the world have been waiting for us.
Gizmo’s first flight moment occurred on June 7th at 8:27:48am. A young bald eagle stepped into the “balcony” branch adjacent to the nest, spreading its impressive wings.
The short flapping of the air and the instantaneous reconnection with the branches made her seem like no time, but when the gizmo Talon had no full grasp of the branches below, she entered a large blue into her majestic path.
Gizmo’s sister Sunny ran away at 10:46am on June 2nd.
Viewers are pleased to see Jeffrey Pine’s Sunny return to Jeffrey Pine’s nest, as Jackie and Shadow deliver a few fish to Gizmo.
Born in late January 2025, the bird grew strongly through constant feeding (thinking fish and coots) and careful care provided by both parents.
Soon the “Fledge Window” that occurred in early May was opened. This means that the chicks could fly anytime.
The Friends of Big Bear Valley, a natural nonprofit that oversees nest cameras, and the second camera, offering a wider view of bird territory, shares detailed plays of the bird’s fledgling journey, and offers insight into Gizmo’s “nearly” distance attempts in a social media update on June 6th.
What about where Sunny and Gizmo soar next?
Friends of Big Bear Valley shared an exciting next step on Facebook. “Sunny & Gizmo takes time to complete their hunting and fishing skills. They’ve been chasing Jackie & Shadow around Habitat for about a month or three after they’ve rolled up and learned all these important Eagle skills.”
This means viewers may be able to get a glimpse of their family on camera as they fly around the lake. It is a sweet concept to reinforce the very human and very moving feelings of knowing that the chapter has finished and something new has begun.
