Police say two people were shot dead on a busy Las Vegas strip Sunday night.
The Metropolitan Police Department in Las Vegas was fired in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard around 10:40pm local time (2:40pm ET), the launch said in a statement early Monday. Social media posts from the moment of filming were outside the Bellagio Hotel and casino. Police quickly pointed out that no shooting occurred inside the casino.
Neither the suspect nor the victim has been identified. No arrests have been made so far.
Police officers on the area’s patrol “quickly ran towards the shooting and found two victims lying on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” LVPD said.
“Our officers provided medical assistance to both victims, but efforts to save the lives of those victims failed and both victims were declared dead on the scene.”
A video posted to X shows a police officer performing CPR to someone on the sidewalk.
The police statement said it “believes the suspect has been identified,” adding that “the suspect and victims had previously engaged in some kind of conflict using various social media platforms.”
The YouTuber was live streaming during the shooting and apparently caught an image of a gun being fired.
In the video, a man walking down the busy street is walking down the busy street as the music plays for a few minutes before a man enters the frame with a gun and fires at least seven shots.
Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to call the Crime Stopper Hotline at 702-385-5555.
