First Fox: Almost every Republican lawyer general blasted California’s Democratic leader in a joint statement Tuesday, accusing them of tolerating criminal conduct and saying President Donald Trump had no choice but to activate thousands of National Guard soldiers.

“In California, we see the consequences of leadership that excuses lawlessness and undermine law enforcement,” the 26 attorney generals wrote in a statement originally provided to Fox News Digital. “The federal government must do when local and state officials do not act.”

The Attorney General said Trump’s decision to federate the National Guard to deal with the anti-immigration enforcement riots and protests that broke out in parts of Los Angeles County over the weekend was the “right response.”

Their comments, in contrast to those of Democrats Gavin Newsom and other Democrats across the country, widely criticized Trump’s decision to send troops to California as an unnecessary escalation.

Newsom sues Trump as he moves, accusing the president of stripping California of sovereignty. The military force that puts the National Guard in the federal government is under the dual control of the governor and president, but rarely occurs without the governor’s consent.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Kerr told Fox News Digital in a brief interview that said that California local law enforcement agencies were worried and that Trump didn’t need to step in, and that the news was “gaslight” and that the news was “gaslight.”

“We all saw what was going on,” Kerr said. “There were federal law enforcement officers who were attacked by MOBs. In fact, I read an article where local law enforcement agencies were overwhelmed and said they needed help. My question is, why in the world they don’t accept federal help when there was MOB rules, and for some reason, Arson was there, it was where the attack happened instead of doing so instead of doing an attack.

Carr said those opposed to the Trump administration’s immigration attacks “peacefully oppose what the federal government is doing.”

Newsom argued that Trump exacerbated the riots and repeated his position, and argued that it was an ineffective approach for criminal justice advocates to show immediate power in response to intensifying protests.

In Newsom’s lawsuit, lawyers wrote that Trump’s decision was unwise and also illegal and “unprecedented seizing of national authority and resources.”

Fox News Digital has requested comment from the California Attorney General’s office.
