The Department of Homeland Security has announced that several convicted offenders in the United States have been arrested Monday and Tuesday as part of their immigration and customs enforcement operations in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles ice operation sparked protests and riots in parts of the city, and President Donald Trump deployed National Guard troops to protect federal immigration officials while continuing his arrests.
“Murderers, pedophiles, drug traffickers. These are the types of criminally illegal aliens that mob fight to protect. Will Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass continue to prioritize these criminally illegal aliens over their citizens?” Deputy Chief Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement Wednesday.

“Commander Noem has a message to La Rioters. You will not stop us or slow us down. ICE will continue to enforce the law and arrest illegal aliens for crimes,” McLaughlin added.
DHS highlighted nine arrests. Everyone says that the agency is illegally in the country.
Geraldo Antonio Palacios of Mexico had previously been deported, but was previously convicted of robbery and murder. According to DHS, Cambodia’s National MAB Kleb, 53, has been convicted of transporting and possessing a controlled substance, a battery, and “hair-lost behavior with a child.”
Laotian Sang Louangprasert was criminally convicted of “indecent or scabic conduct with a child under the age of 14” and “physical injury, giving birth to a spouse or householder.”

Mexico’s National Antonio Benitez Garte was found guilty of drug trafficking charges, while Mexico’s native Alberto Morales Mezia was also found guilty of amphetamine production.

Honduras National Carlos Alberto Escobar Flores was also arrested and previously convicted of grand theft. Another Honduras national, Jose Zimenez Alvarado, was also arrested after an earlier conviction of “two thefts.” 52-year-old Mexico National Jesus Romero Letana has been convicted in advance of “threatening a crime intended to fear and battery.”
Another Mexican national, Raul Terran Gillen, was previously arrested for “human smuggling and money laundering” before his ice arrest this week.

The Trump administration has the goal of 3,000 ice arrests daily, hoping to fulfill its promise of massive deportation after millions of people have joined during the Biden administration. The ice efforts have been scrutinized by Democrats across California and across the country, saying Trump’s decision to deploy security guards and clean up the ice is incited.

“Donald Trump’s government doesn’t protect our community. They’re hurting our community,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a brief speech Tuesday night.
“Angelenos is trying to work and look after his family while facing the constant threat of sudden immigrant crackdown,” Mayor Karen Bass wrote on X on Wednesday morning. “This fear paralyzes the community. We’ve seen it before: kids are scared to go to school, families torn apart without warning. This should not be pretending about public safety. It’s political retaliation.
Fox News Digital reached out to Newsom and Bass offices for comment but did not immediately respond.
