A weeklong demonstration continues over the Los Angeles weekend, with events planned around “no-kings” protests across the country.

The “King” event and other gatherings in downtown Los Angeles are at the heart of protests against this week’s offensive ice attack, and are expected across Southern California. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said Friday that the agency knew about 40 important events on Saturday.

Devils from Los Angeles and across the country come on the same day as the rare military parade in Washington, DC. President Trump will be taking part in the parade on his 79th birthday, celebrating the Army’s 250th birthday.

Here’s what you need to know about Saturday’s protest in Los Angeles:

Where is the “king” protest in Los Angeles?

Most of the violence protests and cases during the turbulent week were concentrated in several blocks of federal buildings, such as downtown Los Angeles and the Federal Detention Center, near City Hall. A large crowd is expected again in the area on Saturday, with a rallies and marching planned at City Hall.

City Hall events are scheduled to start at 9:45am

Other gatherings are planned for LA and Orange County communities, including Woodland Hills, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Pasadena, Pasadena, Anaheim and Huntington Beach, according to a map of events shared by Nokings.org.

Here are some of the scheduled king events and times:

Anaheim, 4pm, La Palma Park, 1151 N. La Palma Parkway Antelope Valley, 11am, 10th Avenue West and Rancho Vista Boulevard Dana Point, 1pm, Selva Road and Pacific Coast Highway El Segundo, 10am, El Segundo, Imperial Avenue, Imperial Avenue, Main Street Handyton Beach Highway and Main Long Beach, 9am, Bixby Park Annex, East Ocean Boulevard, Junipero Avenue Malibu: noon, Malibu Library, 23519 West Civic Center Pasadena: 2pm, Lake and Colorado Santa Clarita, 10:30am, MacBian Parkway, MacBian Bluebird Santa Monica, 11 am Corner, Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Ventura Boulevard Torrance, 11am Torrance City Hall, 3031 Torrance Blvd West Hollywood, 11am, West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. Whittier, 2pm, Whittier City Hall, 13230 Penn St. Woodland Hills, 11am, Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Victory Boulevard

Law enforcement leaders said they are tracking more than 200 planned protests in California on Saturday alone. Alex Rozier reports an NBC4 News report on June 13, 2025 at 6pm.

Law enforcement is preparing for a protest in LA

National Guard members and Marines were revitalized earlier this week by President Trump over objections from state and local officials such as government officials Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass. Local law enforcement officers are responsible for managing crowds during protests, including vandalism, assault and looting, and arrest people for various crimes.

LAPD chief Jim McDonnell, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna and CHP Deputy Commissioner Ezlie Beauchamp held a joint press conference at LAPD headquarters on Friday to discuss law enforcement preparations aimed at keeping many demonstrations peaceful.

“Let’s make this absolutely clear – if you come to Los Angeles to exercise your rights peacefully, we will be here to protect it, but if you come to our city with the intention of hurting others, including our officers, or causing damage to property, you will be arrested,” McDonnell said. “We do not allow people to undermine the rights of people who legally demonstrate violence, vandalism, or threats to public safety.”

Sheriff Robert Luna repeated these comments, referring to cases of violence reported last weekend, and was reported in peaceful protests. Among other objects, Molotov cocktails and commercial grade fireworks were thrown by law enforcement officers during several protests in the ice attack, authorities said. No serious injuries have been reported.

“If you’re throwing rocks, Molotov cocktails, high grade fireworks, and all these other weapons, you’ll be arrested if you get caught,” Luna said.

Beauchamp said the CHP is aware of the roughly 200 protests and marchs planned in California on Saturday.

“We have revitalized eight special response teams, which are specially trained executives, all of which will be working across California,” he said. “In LA County, we are receiving tactical warnings, and for us, that means that all holidays will be cancelled for all CHP officers.
