President Donald Trump has taken a strong stance on the issue, repeatedly saying that he will not allow the country to develop nuclear weapons, despite the Trump administration reporting that it allows Iran to continue its uranium enrichment program and potentially allow Iran’s nuclear weapons to develop.
Axios reported earlier this month that it would “permit low levels of uranium enrichment on Iranian soil for a determined period” as part of a contract to ease US sanctions provided to Iran by White House envoy Steve Witkov. This was what the outlet said was putting backlash from Capitol Hill and Israel’s Trump alliance at risk.
Shortly after the Axios story, Trump posted to the true society, “Under our potential agreement, we will not allow uranium enrichment.”
The AP reported that Trump’s message “damped down the proposal proposed by his administration,” while Witkov and the president “repeated an inconsistent public message about whether Iran would be allowed to maintain its ability to enrich uranium to a lower level for civilian purposes.”

But Trump has consistently said that under any circumstances Iran will not allow it to develop nuclear weapons.
Back in 2011, Trump kept the record by expressing his belief that Iran should not have access to nuclear weapons for more than three dozen.
Earlier, Trump said, “Time to Be Tough,” “The Time to Be Tough.” “The main goal of America with Iran must be to destroy nuclear ambitions. I put it as obvious as I know: Iran’s nuclear program must be stopped by what is necessary.
He also made clear his stance that Iran should not even be allowed to develop further nuclear weapons. In a 2011 tweet, “Iran’s nuclear program must be stopped by necessary measures.”

After announcing his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump criticized President Barack Obama for negotiating a “disastrous deal with Iran,” saying “Iran is not allowed to have nuclear weapons, and under the Trump administration it is never allowed to have nuclear weapons.”
Again, in 2017, Trump said from the NPR that he would “deny the administration on all paths to nuclear weapons.”
On the 2024 campaign trail, Trump repeatedly said that nuclear promotion was “the biggest risk we have.” In an interview with Patrick Bett David, “The real threat is not global warming. The real threat is – the threat is nuclear warming.”
Referring to Iran, he said, “They are very close to having nuclear weapons,” “I wanted Iran to be very successful. I don’t want them to have nuclear weapons.”

He also criticized former President Joe Biden, saying, “We should never allow them to go this far. They are the road – they are far ahead now.”
During the campaign, Trump was recorded at least 34 times, and a Fox News digital review of the video show saying that Iran should have no way of developing nuclear weapons.
“They can’t have nuclear weapons, and now they’re very close to having them, and it’s very dangerous to the world, very dangerous to the world. So, the biggest problem – in my opinion, the biggest risk is nuclear weapons, weapons. Today it’s very powerful.

Iran has repeatedly said it does not agree to a ban on uranium enrichment, claiming it has a right to the process, which is essential for nuclear energy as well. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakich repeated this point at a press conference from Egypt on Monday. He said he plans to respond to the US proposal soon, according to Tasnim Newsletter.
