He invited the women on a camping trip to the Angeles National Forest and then attacked them in a van specifically equipped for a sex crime, authorities said.
Eduardo Saravia was sentenced to more than 25 years in a plea bargain on Friday.
Sarabia, 41, refused to admit the conflict over the charges of forced rape. He was accused of luring two women into the van last year for a camping trip in the San Gabriel Mountains, but sexually assaulted him in a secluded woods along Highway 39, according to court records and a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Saravia was arrested the night of her second attack, the release said.
He also refused to argue for the dispute to separate allegations of sexual assault on two children that occurred between 2010 and 2012. After Saravia was arrested last year, the victims came forward.
According to footage from news outlet KTTV, the van that Saravia committed the attack called “a rape dungeon on the wheel” – also at his home.
Behind the metal partition of the van was a stained mattress, condoms, children’s toys, ropes and other household items, footage shows. The van also had an external locking system that was not accessible from the inside.
Several victims were prepared to testify against Sarabia before he would not contest all the charges.
He has been in prison for 25 years and eight months without probation. He has served more than a year since his arrest.
