Food Network’s famous chef Anne Burrell dies

(Nexstar) – Chef Anne Burrell, famous for appearing in multiple food network shows, has passed away. She was 55 years old.

Representatives confirmed Burrell’s death with Nexstar and said in a statement that Burrell had passed away at his New York home. Her death was first reported by people. According to TMZ, authorities were called to the house after it was found out that the barrel was not responding. The cause of death has not been announced yet.

“Anne was her beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother and friend. Her smile brightened up every room she was in,” Burrell’s family said in a statement she shared with Nexstar. “Anne’s light radiates far beyond those she knows, touching millions of people around the world. She is no longer with us, but her warmth, spirit, and infinite love remains eternal.”

Burrell grew up in upstate New York and attended Canisius College in Buffalo, earning a degree in English and Communications, and her food network biographies read. She later attended the Institute of American Culinary and the Institute of Italian Culinary for Foreigners. Burrell used that knowledge to work at a top restaurant in New York City.

She spent more than three years teaching at the Culinary Education Institute before returning to restaurant life, according to a statement from her representative.

Burrell made his food network debut with “The Secret of a Restaurant Chef.” Her and her iconic pointy hair quickly became a fan favorite, and she appeared on multiple shows on the network. This includes participating as a competitor on “Iron Chef America,” a judge on “Chef Wanted,” a host of “Worst Cooks in America,” and a guest star on “Beat Bobby Flay.” You can also recognize her from “Chopped,” “Food Network Star,” and “House of Knives.”

Anne Burrell’s works can also be found on the bookshelves. She wrote two cookbooks, “Cook like a Rock Star” and “Own Your Kitchen.” Both became New York Times bestsellers.

“Anne was an incredible person and a culinary talent. She teaches, competes, always shares the importance of food in her life and the joys that delicious meals can bring,” a Food Network spokesman said in a statement to Nexstar. “Our idea is with Anne’s family, friends and fans at this time of great loss.”

Recently, Burrell has partnered with Carerite Centers to provide its rehabilitation and nursing centers with a distinctive culinary excellence program.[redefine] The press release shows that he worked at facilities in Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey and New York this year.

She was survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021. They share a son Javier from Claxton’s previous marriage.
