The recent arrest of Chinese citizens at the University of Michigan has revived concerns about CCP-owned farmland and property in the United States, particularly Michigan, and has caused similarities with the current conflict between Iran and Israel.

Earlier this month, the two Chinese citizens were accused of smuggling “dangerous biological pathogens” into the United States at the University of Michigan, where FBI director Kash Patel says “the Communist Party of China (CCP) is infiltrating our education institutions, restraining it, restraining it, ending it, ending it, ending it.”

The third Chinese citizen with ties to the university was subsequently arrested and updated questions about China’s efforts to penetrate and influence various sectors of the United States, including the purchase of farmland, which has been growing concern across the country.

A 2023 report from the US Department of Agriculture found that “foreigners are interested in approximately 45 million acres of farmland in the US.”

China isn’t at the top of the list of countries in its report, but the arrest in Michigan has prompted a call from Congress, ensuring that the CCP, which many consider to be the country’s top geopolitical enemy, has not acquired US farmland.

Republican Sen. Pete Ricketts told Fox News Digital this week that China is actively purchasing American agriculture. Therefore, he said, “We need to raise awareness about protecting our hometown.”

Ricketts, along with Democrat Sen. John Fetterman, introduced the Bipartisan Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure (AFIDA) Improvement Act, which seeks to implement recommendations issued by the Government’s Accountability Office in January 2024.

“The buying of land in China isn’t just about acreage. They’re about access,” Michigan GOP Rep. John Mourenard told Fox News Digital that he chairs the House Selection Committee on Strategic Competition between the US and the CCP.

“Even small plots near military bases and important infrastructure pose serious national security risks. In my hometown, I have seen incidents like the Gotion site near Camp Greyling.

China’s Michigan agriculture violation was enough concern for Republican state Rep. Gina Johnsen to introduce legislation earlier this year that would prohibit foreign enemies from buying up farmland.

“The agriculture industry in our state is a pillar of our economy. My community is an agricultural community,” Johnsen said. Our farms provide food security, work and economic stability to countless residents. However, concerns are growing about losing our farmland to a nation of concern. ”

Furthermore, the revelation that Israel’s attack on Iran’s nuclear capabilities was supported by years of secret planning, surveillance and penetration by the Israeli Intelligence News has made Chinese farmland a topic of conversation.

The pre-produced battle, coded “Am Kelavi” (Lion Lion), was the product of an unprecedented coordination between the Israeli Air Force, the Military Intelligence Bureau, the Mossad and the country’s defense industry. For years, they worked “shoulder to shoulder” to gather the information files needed to eliminate Iran’s most sensitive military and nuclear assets.

As part of that operation, Israel was able to establish a drone base within Iran. There, Mossad operatives retrieved them from their hideouts for use against Iranian sites.

Brian Cunningham, president of Liberty Defense and former CIA Intelligence officer, told Fox News Digital that Israeli operations are a “wake-up call” for the US about the potential implementation of US foreign enemies in the US.

“As an intelligence agent, as part of me says, I hope that the sources and methods of building these drone factories in the Target country are not revealed,” Cunningham said. “But on the other hand, it hopefully serves as a wake-up call for our policymakers, and that’s what’s tied up, and if I’m in the administration, I’ll quickly link this bond with the Trump administration’s border strategy.”

Cunningham continues, “Our borders are where you are most likely to actually intercept these kinds of toxins, explosives, flares, 3D printed weapons, ceramic weapons, etc. So if that’s me and I was a homeland security secretary, I would have tied this together. Bringing that material.”

The FBI is increasing surveillance of Iran-backed operatives in the United States as Trump considers strikes, a senior law enforcement official told Fox News on Friday.

Deirdre Heavey, Lucas Tomlinson and Efrat Lachter from Fox News Digital contributed to this report.
