The boundary was set up after Los Angeles Police Department officials were shot dead while waiting for a tow truck overnight.
According to a LAPD spokesperson, officers heard a gunshot around 12:30am on Saturday and were standing outside the team’s car near Van Nuys Nigeister Victor Boulevard and Cedros Avenue when they noticed the suspect in the vehicle had fired.
It is unclear whether the tow trucks the officers were waiting for are for them or for another vehicle.
None of the officers were attacked, but at least one patrol vehicle was struck, a spokesman confirmed. They did not specify exactly how many officers were in the area at the time of the shooting, but pointed out that they did not fight back.

“The police officers rode in police cars and pursued the vehicle. [which] It was stopped in the 5800 block of Kester Avenue,” the spokesman said. “A boundary was set to find the suspect.”
The 5800 block of Kester is about a mile away from where the officers were shot.
As of 6am on Saturday, the scene was still lively. Video from a scene shot by KTLA photojournalist John Greenwood shows a LAPD airship circling the area as a unit on the ground blocked the area.
This is a developing story. I will stay at KTLA for updates.
