Eight suspects were arrested during a retail theft halt operation in Ventura County.

The day’s operation took place on June 14th at Camarillo’s Premium Outlet, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

Along with a pair of robbery tools and brass knuckles, stolen property worth $6,000 has been discovered by officers.

The suspect was identified as follows:

Martin Granados, 40, Newbury Park Luis Santiago, 31, Oxnard Christian Hernandez, 29, Newbury Park Carlos Sanchez, 26, Moorepark Sergio Rosas, 21, Van Nuis Manuel Flores, 19, Bakersfield Santiago Valero,

Granados and Hernandez were arrested after they allegedly stole $700 worth of goods from several retailers. When deputies approached a nearby pair of cars, they ran from the area shortly thereafter before being caught.

Both were arrested for conspiring to commit organized retail theft and resisting executive officers. Granados was also arrested for possession of a brass knuckle.

In the case of Sanchez and Santiago, authorities searched the vehicle. There, stolen items worth over $2,200 were found from six different outlet stores.

Both were arrested for conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, major theft, possession of stolen property and possession of robbery tools. Sanchez was reportedly arrested previously on similar charges and was released on bail for separate theft-related lawsuits.

Rosace, Valero and the 16-year-old were allegedly stolen items worth more than $2,600 from 14 outlet stores.

They were arrested for conspiracy to commit organized retail theft. Rosas and Valero were arrested for child danger for committing a crime in the presence of the juvenile. Rosace and Martinez were booked to the main prison, where a teenage boy was quoted and released by his parents.

Flores is said to have stolen $75 worth of goods from the outlet store. He was quoted for misdemeanor shoplifting and released.

All cases were filed with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office for review.

The Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force is made up of detectives from various agencies within Ventura County and focuses on fighting organized retail theft, vehicle/vehicle parts theft and cargo theft.

“The Task Force aims to work with retailers, law enforcement agencies and the public to provide a safe environment for all to identify, find and arrest offenders involved in these types of crimes,” the Sheriff’s Department said.

Anyone with information about a possible theft case is encouraged to call the Ventura County Organization’s Retail Theft Task Force at 805-383-8703. Anonymous tips can be provided to LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at lacrimestoppers.org.

Retailers who have experienced considerable retail theft and are interested in joining a similar Blitz business can call 805-383-8703.
