Attorney Douglas Emov, husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris, has returned to his alma mater this summer as a prominent visiting law professor at the USC Gould School of Law, the university announced Monday.
Emhoff, who won a JD at USC Gould in 1990, will begin his teaching role on July 1st.
“It’s great to be back in Los Angeles and I’m thrilled and honored to be back at USC Gould, where my legal journey began,” Emhoff said in a statement. “I look forward to sharing my experiences with the next generation and hearing from them in USC’s vibrant academic community.”
Emhoff previously taught at Georgetown University Law Center during his time in Washington, while DC Emhoff coached students, participated in mock interviews and professional development events, and supported recent alumni.
“As a lawyer, I always believed in speaking on behalf of vulnerable people, defending fundamental rights and fighting for justice,” Emov said. “We are excited to instill these values in the next generation of legal experts.”
The decision is that Harris is running for California governor, and she is not expected until the end of the summer.
