Moderate House Democrats are offering unusual praise to President Donald Trump after a precise attack on Iran over the weekend.
“Iran is governed by a regime hostile to the United States and is allying with others seeking to destroy America. They kill American troops and civilians and sponsor terrorist organizations, the source of regional disruption and bloodshed.
“Based on what I know so far, I believe the President is right to launch a limited strike to stop that outcome.”

He cited the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in valuing Iran as being close to nuclear weapons.
“Now it is important that the country learn more about how it will help inform the president’s decision and timing of these strikes, and learn more about whether it has been successful in destroying Iran’s nuclear program,” Golden said.
“But the most important thing now is: Today, Iran launched missiles at US bases in Iraq and Qatar. The top priority for the president, his administration and Congress must use all the tools at his disposal to defend Americans and block further escalations by Tehran.”

Golden said he is looking forward to the House’s expected briefing on the situation in Iran.
House-wide briefings are expected to occur at 3pm on Tuesday, House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y. said Monday.
The democratic response to Trump’s strike in Washington has been largely negative, with the exception of a few pro-Israel lawmakers, including a few pro-Israel lawmakers, including Sen. John Fetterman.
Golden is known to infiltrate from his own party on issues such as trade, border security and national security, among other issues.

Golden won a seat in Maine’s Second Congressional District for less than 1% in 2024, with Trump carrying the district 10%.
When asked for comment on his statement, the White House digitally pointed Fox News to Trump’s recent truth social post about Iran’s attack on Aldeid Air Base in Qatar, which houses US troops.
“Iran officially responded to the removal of nuclear facilities with a very weak response, predicted it, and responded very effectively. 14 missiles were fired. 13 fell and one headed in a threatening direction, so “we are not threatened.”
“Most importantly, they got it all from the ‘system.’ There is no more hatred. I would like to thank you for notifying me early.
