Irvine’s animal trainer and his girlfriend are charged in connection with the deaths of at least 12 dogs.
Kwong Chun Sit, 53, has been charged with counting 22 felony abuse against animals and counting six misdemeanors attempting to destroy evidence and counting destroying evidence.
Vista co-defendant Tingfeng Liu, 23, has been charged with felony accessory charges after counting two misdemeanors attempting to destroy facts and two misdemeanors and counting destroying evidence.
Police recovered the remains of one dog, nine bodies and two other dogs, according to Irvine Police Department Kyle Allelp.
The pair trained the animals and boarded them, Oldall said. One couple was told that they had stripped their dog for boarding and “touch-up training,” and then the dog was killed under the care of a trainer, Oldoerp said.
“It was a total mix of different dog types,” Olderp said.
Police said they were contacted by the pet owner around 5:25pm on Wednesday and received a message that the dog was asleep and had been cremated.
Police recovered multiple dogs at separate crematoriums, according to Oldoerp.
