Former Biden civil servant Neela Tanden, who testified before Congress on Tuesday as part of a mental vision investigation, has a long history as a democratic operative and has not been appointed to Biden’s cabinet for past controversial social media posts.

“The White House has never had the experience of offering any reason to question his command as president,” Tanden told the House Oversight Committee in an opening statement behind the closed door on Tuesday. “He was in charge.”

She added that “cooperation” with the House Committee’s investigation should not mean “before it is a valuable surveillance target” before it pivots into the Trump administration and makes multiple allegations.

Tanden was initially nominated by Biden and before leading the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the nomination was withdrawn after criticism of the lack of Congressional support for her and several previous posts on Twitter, now known as X.

Leaders from both sides of the political spectrum called Tanden for personal attacks and statements they made on social media.

These statements include Sen. Susan Collins, R. Maine, “The Worst”, Sen. Tom Cotton, R. Ark, “The Fraud”, and “The Vampire has a higher heart than Ted Cruz”, and referring to “Moscow Mitch”, “Voldemort” and “Voldmalt”.

Tanden deleted more than 1,000 of her previous tweets prior to her confirmation hearing.

Plus, I-Vt. Bernie Sanders, chairman of the committee, said he was worried about the millions of dollars the American Center for Progress (CAP) received from large corporations and special interest groups. Tanden returned to CAP in February and took over his previous role as president and CEO of a left-wing think tank.

“Tanden, Biden’s candidate has won $731,528 from the American Center for Progress (CAP) over the past two years to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), earning thousands of investments and speaking expenses,” Fox News previously reported. “That’s about $365,000 a year.”

Tanden previously explained that Cap’s mission has become “a central hub of Trump’s resistance.”

A longtime democratic operative, Tanden was working on two presidential elections for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Under former President Obama, she also helped draft the Affordable Care Act law as adviser to Kathleen Severius, Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Tanden has also repeatedly pushed the story of Russian collusion about Donald Trump, repeatedly promoting the discredited Steel Dejar as credible evidence. At one point, Tanden called social media steals “the next James Bond.”

After her appointment was withdrawn, the president vowed to find Tanden’s place in his administration.

Tanden met with the House Oversight Committee in a closed room on Tuesday. This is because people closest to Biden in his White House are investigating whether they are hiding the decline in the former president’s mental vision and hiding methods to avoid the former president regarding issuing important orders.

An aide to the House Oversight Committee told Fox News that “Neera Tanden was allowed to direct the signatures between 2021 and 2023. This was a system that was inherited from the previous administration. She was also in charge of Biden,” according to a X post in Chad Pergram of Fox News.

President Donald Trump has also ordered the Justice Department to open an investigation into the issue. The president oversaw Attorney General Pam Bondy and White House lawyer David Warrington, and handled the investigation.

In response to the Trump administration’s call for an investigation, Biden declared that he was the only person to “make a decision” during the presidency and the only person to call Trump’s efforts a “distraction.”

David Montanaro, Elizabeth Elkind and Chris Pandolfo from Fox News Digital contributed to this report.
