Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., was taken to a hospital in Washington on Wednesday and said the area continues to experience plenty of heat due to dehydration.
“This morning, Schumer’s leader was in the Senate gym and won the Lighthead,” Schumer’s office told Fox News. “From a wealth of caution, he went to the hospital, received dehydration treatment and is now back to work at the Capitol.”

Temperatures in Washington, DC were expected to reach the heights of the 90s as parts of the East Coast experienced heat waves.
“Dc’s extreme heat warning: until 8pm today. Daytime temperatures feel like above 105°F. Drink water. Keep it cool.”
Authorities have warned against precautions to prevent fever-related illnesses.

Schumer’s office said the senator wanted to remind everyone to “drink water and get away from the heat.”
