The semi-truck driver was killed in a violent collision with the Metrolink train on Wednesday in Ventura County, officials confirmed with KTLA.
Metrolink officials said the incident occurred around 2:15pm at a private intersection near the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Montea Drive in Moore Park.
Metrolink Ventura County Line, Train 118, had 17 passengers and two crew members on board at the time of the fatal crash.
“The semi-truck driver was tragically killed from injuries sustained in the collision,” the Ventura County Fire Department, one of the responding agencies, said in a post to X.
All five trains and engines remained upright on the trucks in the collision. This dragged the Big Rig front end through an unknown distance from the impact point of an uncontrolled railway intersection.
