Authorities say the semi-truck collided in the farm area of Moore Park on Wednesday afternoon, killing the truck driver and sending one of the train’s passengers to the hospital.
Metrolink Train 118 struck a truck and trailer at a private farming intersection near the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Montea Drive at 2:15pm, according to a Metrolink spokesperson. The truck driver died at the scene and one of the 11 passengers on the train was taken to a local hospital for treatment in an unknown condition, a spokesman said.
One passenger on the Metrolink train was taken to hospital after the collision.

The truck was severely damaged during the collision. Fire Department spokesman Andy Vancesiber said the vehicle section was pushed a third of the mile down the truck. All five trains and engines remained upright on the truck after the collision.
The cause of the accident is currently unknown. Train intersections on farmland in Ventura County are usually marked with stop signs and signs telling drivers to see both ways, Vansciver said.
As a result of the collision, the Metrolink service, which operates regularly at Venturai-Out Station, only ran up to Moore Park. Wednesday afternoon Metrolink was working to provide alternative transport and Uber vouchers to affected customers.
