It could be a big, beautiful weekend as Congress is working on Trump’s bill

Newou can listen to Fox News articles!

Senate majority leader John Tune (Rs.D.) was in a gross Tuesday afternoon.

South Dakota Republicans concluded a long luncheon with fellow Gopers and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on the massive and beautiful bill.

“Hello. Are you all enjoying it already?” Thune asked the Congressional press as he approached the microphone in Capitol’s Ohio Clock Corridor for a weekly exchange with reporters.

I really suggested, “Listen to me around 3:45am on Sunday mornings.”

Reporter’s Notebook: Johnson prepares his house for a “big and beautiful bill” fight, so marathon weekends are waiting for the Senate

If you’re insomnia…

Or I don’t want to see National Symphony Orchestra pop perform Dolly Parton’s musical canon at the Kennedy Center…

Or, I don’t have tickets to watch Savanna Banana play at Nut Park this weekend…

The US Senate may be the place for you.

Actions against the big and beautiful bill can occur at any time this weekend, day or night.

The Senate is about to pass a big beautiful bill on Saturday or Sunday. Maybe even early on Monday.

Assume Senate Republicans can pass the bill.

“If the bill is passed, do you expect that at least there will be no two or three members on your side?” I asked Thune.

“It’s possible,” replied Thune.

“Why?” I rebutted.

“Well, we have a lot of very independent thinking senators. There are reasons and things about this bill that will be stronger in their view,” Thune replied. “Hopefully, when the push sticks out and everyone has to say yes or no, we’ll get the number of votes we need.”

House conservatives go to war with the Senate over Trump’s “big, beautiful bill”

In the US Senate there is a more political push and push than in the line of fourth graders waiting for a water fountain after a break. And the senator may move beyond pushing and pushing the bill into actual fights as Republicans and grouses.

It’s about mathematics. Senate Republicans can pass the bill by Vice President Vance losing three votes and pass the bill. Fox was told that if there are currently 10 potential NOEs, the bill is in question. But if Naze’s universe is only five in the future, they could probably cut it down enough to pass the bill.

For the issues that may be faced with certain provisions of the law, here are the GOP senators worth noting:

Randpole, R-Ky. , Ron Johnson, R-Wisc. , Rickscott, R-Fla. , Josh Hawley, R-Mo. , Tom Tillis, R.N.C., Mikeley, R.-, John Kennedy, R.-LA.

That’s 11. Many of those on the list can vote for Jesus. They may end up until the very end to get the provisions of the bill they want. Or they want to understand the final product.

“We don’t know what the bill has. Congress has abandoned some provisions,” Kennedy said. “Look, I’m working. I’m not a management team. But I’m one vote, just like management team. And I’m willing to work on weekends.

Kennedy said he excavated, “I wasn’t told about some of the bill. I’m not happy.”

Taking a hint of hats to boxing analysts Al Bernstein and Larry Merchant, Thune returned to discuss the senator’s physicality.

“When the push sticks out, you’re looking at whether the perfect person will allow him to become the enemy,” Thune said. “We have to realize that this is a process where no one can get everything they want.”

The Senate GOP aims to approve next week’s major law to promote party unity

One of the most notable issues remains salt, and the deductions of high-tax state state and local taxes.

“There’s a solution within 24-48 hours,” Bessent said after a flock with the GOP senator.

“I know there are a lot of conservatives who don’t like it,” said Kevin Hassett of Fox Business, director of the White House National Economic Council. “A lot of the very important people in the house want to make it as big as possible, and Secretary Becent is working with people to find the exact number to land the bill.”

So when will the Senate end?

“The question of when the Senate can be accomplished is a great question,” said Jason Smith, chairman of the House Way and Means Committee at R-Mo. “They’ve had it for over six weeks. I’m waiting.”

The Senate will vote on procedurally to formally reach the bill on Friday. If the Senate votes to reach the bill, the 20-hour time period begins to be implemented under special Senate budget rules. Procedural voting requires only a simple majority.

The time is divided into 20 hours. The Democrats will probably burn all 10 hours. Republicans spend a few hours. So the Senate will likely begin “voting for the llama” on the bill, perhaps early on Saturday morning.

“Voting – Lama” is where the Senate takes roll call votes for hours in a row to amend the package.

It will culminate in the passing of a big, beautiful bill in the Senate late Saturday or early Sunday.

Senate Republicans are trying to sweeten the Medicaid pot to silence opposition to Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”

Please note that it is impossible to put out a game when this is possible. But frankly, the final vote could come anytime, day or night, all weekend, if not early Monday.

This scenario also assumes that everything will swim.

Latest Voting – The llama was executed within 10 hours earlier this year. The 2021 voting llama spent 14 hours and 48 minutes, with the Senate considering a total of 40 amendments.

We believe this llama’s vote may be on the longer end.

More Food for Thinking: How quickly can the House vote for the bill? (Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)

Here are the other wildcards:

How quickly can the House pivot to pass the bill and align it with the Senate?

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La. signaled that the House may aim to vote on Tuesday.

Also, the “72-hour rule” that allows the House to read the bill before a vote does not apply. The Senate is sending “amendments” back to the House of Representatives plans. Therefore, the “72-hour rule” is not working in these situations.

But the question is whether Johnson is facing pressure to marinate the bill for several days.

Trump pressures Congress to pass “big and beautiful bills” and insists that “no one will do it until they’re on vacation.”

However, some House conservatives are not satisfied with the Senate’s actions.

“We’re not stuck in this, we’re not,” Rep. Ralph Norman said.

R-Texas’ August Pfluger believes the Senate should accept House measures as the House can barely pass the version in May.

“We did the hard work of passing a very tight needle in this law, so there’s no need to go back to look too different from what we’re leaving the house,” Pfluger said.

So the question is whether the Senate can pass the bill. And if the house can accept anything the Senate passes.

So, like I said, if you don’t have much to do this weekend, maybe Capitol Hill is there.

Especially Sunday morning at 3:45am.
