Former President Bill Clinton, who supported former Governor Andrew Cuomo ahead of the New York City mayoral primary, congratulated state legislative member Zoran Mamdani after the obvious victory of the nominee.
“Congratulations to @Zohrankmamdani on yesterday’s primary victory and well-executed campaign. I hope that since November, we have gathered New Yorkers to tackle urban challenges and work to shape a stronger and equitable future.”
Unofficial results show that Mamdani, a democratic socialist, defeated Cuomo and others in one of the ranked selection contests. Cuomo said Mamdani “wind.”

US Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. has expressed his support for him.
“Zohran’s inspiring campaign has shown that the grassroots movement can be achieved when fighting for bold policies. The government (billionaire) who contributes to his people will be more affordable for NYC. @Zohrankmamdani. She declared in a post Wednesday.

Mamdani pointed out that Warren’s support means a lot to him.
“This means a lot to me,” @ewarren,” Mamdani said in a post in response to the senator. “We appreciate your leadership, your fight for working families and your support.”
