“The vote in the House today sends a clear message. If you are a guest in this country and you risk America’s lives by breaking our laws and driving under influence, there will be consequences,” Moore said.
The bill was named after Jeremy and Angel Shee. Jeremy and Angel Shee are couples from the Moore community who were killed by illegal immigrants who were found to be drunk driving, Moore said.
It was also named after the murder of Arizona State Police Officer Brandon Mendoza.

Democrats who opposed the bill argued it was an attempt to fear.
“I attended a judicial hearing that led to the bill being sent to the floor and carefully reviewed the majority’s reports. There is no evidence at all in that hearing or report showing the causal relationship between immigration status and drunk driving,” the House Rules Committee discussed the bill earlier this week.
“And most notably, with all this talk, this law will not take any real meaningful action to repair a broken immigration system.”

But Moore said he was “shocked” that 160 Democrats voted against the bill.
“It shows that when it comes to holding illegal immigrants accountable, even if it kills our own people in drunken driving cases, they are against all sorts of reforms around immigration,” Moore said.
The senior House Democrat leader is one of 160 people who voted against the bill, including House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y.
The law will be taken up by the Senate and then President Donald Trump must sign the law for it to come into effect.
