Almost six months after the flames devastated the Pacific Palisades, two iconic Malibu restaurants announced to the public that they would be reopening in July.
Gladstones, a historic beachside restaurant 50 years old at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard, shared Wednesday that the public can once again dine on the patio from Friday, July 4th.
Another well-known seafood restaurant along PCH, Duke’s Malibu is set to open a barefoot bar in late July, the restaurant announced on social media on Tuesday. The exact date of return is unknown.
Both structures survived the fire, but the Gladstones and Duke were closed in the week of January 6th during destruction and evacuation.
A month later, the landslide in Pallisard further hurt Duke. There were no injuries. The restaurant has begun a “extensive” cleanup effort. The restaurant was first to announce its summer reopening, expected in late March.
The landslide left chaos at a Duke restaurant in Malibu. It will air on Friday, February 14th, 2025 and in Los Angeles on Friday, February 14th.
During the closure, Gladstone restored its power and plumbing. The restaurant also raised more than $29,000 in donations to its employees every hour through its crowdfunding website.
At the grand opening, the restaurant is open from 11am until sunset.
Gladstones held an open interview from June 12th to June 16th to prepare for return. We also launched an online application through our website.
