Malibu’s iconic Gladstone seafood restaurant is set to celebrate July 4th with a spectacular reopening after surviving the devastating Palisade fire in January.
“Make more than 50 years of memories and even more… Congratulations with us as the Gladstones will be open to the public on July 4th!
The beachfront hangout is located just off Sunset Boulevard on the Pacific Coast Highway. Co-owner Jim Harris posted a post praised firefighters for saving the restaurant during a fire that made national headlines in January.
“Thank you for asking everyone, Gladstones is not burning out, but not burning out. Looking forward to the details, we continue to pray for the people around us,” the January 9th post read just two days after the fire broke out.

Many other homes and businesses were not fortunate. A Palisade fire burned nearly 24,000 acres and destroyed 7,000 structures. Twelve people also lost their lives in the fire, but the cause of this has not been ultimately declared.
“We are heartbroken at the horrific losses facing this community and other people in Southern California. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. We thank our brave first responders, firefighters and heroes. From our Gladstones family to yours, stay safe.”
Gladstone’s began preparing for the July 4 reopening last month by interviewing new employees.
