Unelected senators should not decide what stays and doesn’t do in the so-called “big, beautiful bill,” R-FLA Rep. Greg Stube told the Fox News channel in an interview approved by President Trump.
Conservatives were furious Thursday morning after Sen. Elizabeth McDonough ruled Medicaid some important reforms and subtleties in a version of the Senate GOP’s President Trump bill. Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall called for a replacement for McDonough.
Steube was a guest on Fox Report on Sunday morning. Host Jon Scott asked him where he stood as to whether Congress should be rejected and even fired. He agreed to Marshall.

“Yeah, I was calling for her to be fired,” Stutube said. “I don’t think that someone who has not been elected over a decade ago should be the one who decides what stays and what is not.”
Lawmakers across the United States were elected by their members to make those decisions. He said he’s not a member of Congress.
At this time, Republicans hold a majority in the House and Senate. McDonough was appointed by late Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat.

Steube, why is the current Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Rs.D. He questioned whether McDonough would not replace Republican appointee.
“We’ve certainly wanted that,” Steube said. “Thune says he’s not going to do that, so they’re going to move forward.”
Scott said McDonough was supposed to be a call ball or a strike rather than a political decision. When Scott asked Stube if she thought McDonough was working for the Democrats, lawmakers pointed out that she had been appointed as one.

“The House members who were elected by those who were handed over to the majority of the House of Representatives and sent to the Senate are being hit by one appointed Harry Reed,” Stutube said. “I certainly don’t think it was something Americans voted for.
Trump later posted about an interview with Steube about Truth Social.

“Gregg Stubule, the great MP, is 100% correct,” the president wrote. “Unelected Senate staff (members) should not be allowed to hurt Republican bills. I want a lot of great things. No!”
