The flatbed tow truck driver has recently made lives miserable for some Sherman Oaks residents after the hurler fired a pickup at the second parking truck, knocking down a utility pole and cutting off power to the neighborhood.
The incident the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating as an attempt to steal a car was filmed on nest cameras around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The dramatic video shows a tow truck turning the corner as the pickup truck hangs unsteady from the bed. The tow truck driver appears to lose control as a hanging pickup hits another parked truck and pushes down the street before hitting a utility pole. The impact will knock the towed truck to the ground as the flatbed driver slows down.
The fuss awakened residents to the 13,000 block of Campston Street.
“I knew it was a crash, but I didn’t know exactly what was going on,” said one resident who spoke with the Times but refused to give them their names.
The resident told the Times that before the crash fell, someone saw the towing truck driver stopping and ringing the doorbell of the house where the dark pickup was parked. When no one answered, the tow truck operator began loading the truck into the flatbed. They were interrupted when someone in the house woke up and confronted him, according to a resident who spoke with the Times.
Residents said the towing truck driver jumped into the vehicle and speeded it without securing the load.
According to LAPD, the flatbed driver appears to have lost control when he stolen away, and detectives have collected multiple reports from the incident due to hit-and-run and vehicle theft. Residents lost power hours before the Water and Power Department repaired the utility pole on Sunday.
“It’s a quiet neighborhood and we have kids living here,” the resident said. “We’re so lucky that no one was out when this all happened.”
