The bus carrying at least 20 people hit the railroad tracks on the street from Sierra Highway in Lancaster on Wednesday morning, then ended with a bus, authorities said.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, one passenger was airlifted and two others were rushed to the hospital by their first responders. One person was listed in danger, and 16 people did not require immediate transport via ambulance.
The collision was first reported at 11:17am near North Sierra Highway and West Avenue C, according to the California Highway Patrol. Firefighters responded to the scene before 11:30am, and traffic on both directions on the highway appeared to be closed at 1pm
According to KNBC, the bus loses control and hits the track and overturns it.
The city of Lancaster has notified Union Pacific and Metrolink that the collision appears to have damaged the truck, the station reported.
According to an afternoon social media post, the crash occurred near the railway tracks, but Metrolink said he does not believe the incident would affect the service.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
