House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (DN.Y.) was groped online by conservatives after posting a photo of him holding a baseball bat and pledging to fight back against President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”
“Hospital Democrats put pressure on Trump’s one big, ugly bill,” Jeffries posted on Instagram Wednesday along with a photo of herself standing in her office holding a Louisville slugger.
This post has been widely criticized by conservatives.

“I think ‘Union Targ’ is a choice of atmosphere,” author Chad Felix Green wrote on X.
“No, we beat Dem with that too,” R-Mo said. Sen. Eric Schmidt posted to X along with a photo of him helping Republicans beat Democrats at their annual Congressional baseball game.
“I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say he might be the worst Congressional leader in modern history,” GOP communicator Matt Whitlock wrote on X.

Jeffries’ office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
After posting, it appears that Jeffries changed the caption on the photo. “Protecting your healthcare is as American as baseball, motherhood and apple pie.”
Republicans and Democrats discussed Trump’s signature settlement package all night on Wednesday, and the debate continued until Thursday morning. It is expected that Republicans will have the necessary votes to pass the legislation there.
Jeffries gave a marathon speech in the House, and was given a standing ovation from Democrats, but was criticised by Republicans, including Vice President J.D. Vance.
