Exclusive: Over 700% of Democrats pushed the bill forward due to assault on immigration and customs enforcement officers, demanding agents to exclude masks during immigration enforcement work, special agents expressed concerns about the escalation of violence, and the impact masking has on agents’ families.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, a special agent who spoke on condition of anonymity said immigration enforcement officers “will not wear masks unless they care about their family.”
Agents said the increased protests and resistance from politicians made it difficult to fulfill their duties. The agent also said attempts to try an agent on DOX have made a lot of concern about the safety of their families.
The Department of Homeland Security told Fox News this week that attacks on immigration enforcement ice officials and federal agents have risen 690% compared to the same period last year.

DHS recorded 10 assault events from January 21, 2024 to June 30, 2024. The department recorded 79 assault events from the day after President Donald Trump took office earlier this year until Monday. DHS said there is a high chance that the true number is high. They are happening at such a fast pace, some assault reports may not be explained yet.
This has led to Democrats, including House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (DN.Y.), who are seeking ice agents to break away.

In June, DN.Y.’s MP Nydia Velázquez introduced a bill, a mask without ice acts, to ban ice agents from covering their faces during enforcement. Earlier in June, Jeffries declared that all ice agents who committed “aggressive excess” and tried to hide their identity from the Americans would fail to do so. They are all identified as “no matter how long it takes.”
On behalf of himself and his partner, the agent said he believes that despite Jeffries’ threats, “the agency or the administration will do its best to protect us.”

“If they don’t, we, my family, anything else will happen, he [Jeffries] I’m responsible for that. He is directly responsible for that,” the agent said.
“What value can you get from removing masks from federal agents and law enforcement agencies who get doxx because they’re afraid?” the agent asked. “What is it worth to you? What is your return on investment at that point?”

The agent said in the field of operation run by Democrats who are friendly to the Sanctuary policy, “there are some kind of protest, almost every day, there’s a group that calls on agents, chases them, or videotapes to take license plate photos.”
Agents said protesters also followed and took photos before they began surgery, making it difficult to plan and prepare missions at well-known locations such as police stations.

Despite the confusion, agents said it would only give protesters “false hope” that they could avoid arrest and deportation.
“They are telling them, ‘If you fight this, you might win.’ And that’s not good legal advice at all,” he said.

“If people come out and it causes more problems, then often ice agents say, ‘Hey, this area is getting too hot. We’re going somewhere else,'” he explained. “We don’t have a shortage of targets, so if I’m in town X and they scream, scream outside my car, or give my agents a hard time, they can go to town and find another target.”
Ultimately, the agents said that all looting immigrant staff was to allow them to become doxxed and put their communities at risk, not just their families.
“You’ve also gained people in my agency and this career field. They work part-time as clergy. Or maybe they’re involved in Girl Scouts.
“The last thing these people want is that people who are angry or appearing at a baseball game, whether he or she is coaching, paying attention to them, or threatening their family and way of life.”
