Firefighters fought a “big emergency” fireworks-related explosion that ignited catastrophic flames at four homes in Pacoima on Thursday night, causing at least two and several pets to injure.
Crews respond to a report of a fire in the area of 12933 Corcoran Street just after 9pm, with a community near the 118 highway and 210 Freeway Interchange.
Authorities said there was an active fireworks explosion that exposed other nearby homes and brushes in the area that was on fire at one point.

The 33-year-old woman reportedly suffered a second or third degree burn in her lower limbs, was rushed to the hospital in dangerous conditions. Another 68-year-old woman suffered smoke inhalation injuries but refused to be transported to the hospital.
According to the LAFD, one injured dog was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital by the California Highway Patrol, but LA Animal Care staff were called to report other injured pets.
The gas company was requested to manage the collapsed power lines along the rear of the first three homes that erupted in the flames due to gas leaks in one of the houses involved.

The safe crew of the LA Building Bureau reportedly painted the two homes red. This means that the structure is not safe for everyone. The American Red Cross was on the scene to help the homeless residents.
It only took an hour for over 130 firefighters. Officials said the crew will remain on the scene along with the LAFD Hazmato team and the arson team as well as the Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad.
L.A. Mayor Karen Bass’ crisis team was also heading to the scene, officials said.

The exact cause of the flame is under investigation.
