Speaking to the crowds of Iowa on Thursday night, President Donald Trump announced that military flight teams that launched strikes at Iran’s nuclear facilities will be awarded at the Independence Day White House.

Trump said he had trouble with early media reports suggesting that the strike against Iran was only partially damaging the target.

“Remember when CNN said it wasn’t wiped out. It could have been badly damaged or damaged, but the words that were wiped out are too strong. No, it’s been wiped out. That’s proven now,” Trump said.

“They were trying to say that and meant me lightly, but they were able to lead those great pilots and people and mechanics out there, shoot high in the air, very fast, potentially lots of things shot, hit everything,” he said. “They’re trying to mean me lightly, but to me, they were meanering to them. And they got out of the plane and they said, ‘What? We hit all the targets.’ They know better than anyone else. ”

“These people have done one of the biggest military hits and manipulations in our country’s history. I want them to be thanked,” the president continued. “So they’re coming. They’re coming to the White House tomorrow night.”

“They are going to Washington at the White House tomorrow and we’re going to celebrate.”

Trump said the White House will host not only pilots, but the entire flight crew, including “the people who flew other planes” and “the mechanics that these planes traveled 37 hours without stopping.”

“China, Russia, they were all watching. Everyone was watching,” he said. “We have the greatest equipment in the world. We have great people everywhere in the world, and we have the most powerful military in the world.”

In his speech on Thursday, Trump also claimed that Iran called ahead of a retaliatory strike at a US military base in Qatar to clear the attack at the White House.

“They called me saying they had to take a shot. This was Iran. It’s very respectful. It respects us because we dropped 14 bombs. They told you they wanted to take a 14 shot.

“They said where they would do it. I said, ‘OK.’ We empty the fort.

Trump claimed he went to ask what time would be acceptable for Iran to be accepted into a retaliatory strike.

“They said, ‘Sir, are you okay 1:00?’ and said it was okay. [they said]”We can make it later.” And we had no one other than four gunners,” he said. And they were a little nervous about doing it. I want to tell you, you can imagine, they were great enough – this is Iran – call me and say they want to shoot me 14 times, they want to shoot us. And I said, go ahead. And they fired 14 high grades, very fast missiles. And they did their job. And that was the end. ”
